About Dimensions

Dimensions in Dance has been in operation in the Kitchener-Waterloo area for the past 23 years. It is a family owned and operated business headed by Studio Director – Kimberly Kay.

Dimensions prides itself on its motto "A studio with a difference". The studio and its staff are renowned for the highest calibre in technique, choreography, and their love of children and the Arts.

The studio offers classes both at the Recreational and Competitive levels. All students are encouraged to become the best dancers and performers that they possibly can regardless of the program.

Competitively, Dimensions in Dance is the leader in the region and Southern Ontario. Dancers have competed all over North America bringing back countless awards and scholarships. Many talented young dancers have been invited to attend workshops, shows and competitions overseas as well. The teamwork, confidence and self-discipline that comes from dance training provides an excellent base for future education and career choices.

The studio offers classes in: jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, hiphop, lyrical and acro. Students range in age from 2 1/2 years to adult.

The faculty at Dimensions is comprised of approximately 12 of the most energetic qualified industry leaders in the field of Dance.

Summer Camp

Dimensions offers both a recreational day camp and a competitive camp during the summer.

Recreational Camp (August 9 to August 13, 2010)
The Recreational camp is open to children from 2 ½ years old and up. You may choose from either a half day program from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., or a full day program from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Your child will enjoy a fun-filled week of dance and crafts. Students will be introduced to a variety of types of dance such as jazz, tap, ballet, acro and hiphop. There will be a demonstration for friends and family at the end of the week.

Competitive Camp (August 23 to August 26, 2010)
The competitive camp is open to children with previous competitive experience. This is a 4-day intensive dance experience offering advanced instruction from some of the finest industry leaders in North America. Classes will be offered in: Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Hiphop and Acro.

Classes run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. depending on the student's age and experience. There is a 1-hour break for lunch or dinner.

New this year – we are offering the option of signing up for individual classes or days during the camp week. We fully understand that some students have made commitments to either family or work.

Summer Technique Classes

Summer technique classes are intended to help the students maintain their skills that they have worked so hard to perfect over the year and to help them stay fully stretched and flexible for the upcoming season.

Technique classes are definitely beneficial to the students. Private lessons are great for working on specific items; but quite often, technique classes are even more beneficial as the dancers are challenged by other students thus promoting a greater drive to learn and succeed.

Classes are held during the months of July and August on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. except for the two weeks that we have summer camps.

Fall Registration

We are currently accepting registrations for the 2010-11 dance season. You may contact our studio directly at 519-896-0931 to have a registration form sent to you.

Should you wish to speak directly with the Director of the Studio regarding your child's placement, you may come into the studio the first week of September. Call ahead to get the exact dates and times.

A once-per year non-refundable registration fee applies to all registrations.

The dance season is divided into four 10-week sessions. All classes are billed by the hour. We ask for four post-dated cheques in September to ensure your space for the year. Due to our overwhelming success rate, we offer a refund for any child that withdraws from a program early.

Dimensions in Dance is one of the few studios that offers a family rate for families with more than one child.
